Biography
Chunxiao (Tricia) Chigan is presently an associate professor of electrical and computer engineering at Michigan Tech. Her research interests include vehicular ad hoc networks, wireless ad hoc and sensor networks, wireless network security, adaptive network protocol design for cognitive radio networks, dependable computing and communication systems, and network resource allocation and management. Chigan’s research is sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF), the US Army Communications-Electronics Research Development and Engineering Center (CERDEC), the US Army Research Lab (ARL), as well as the Innovation Center of EATON Corp. Prior to joining Michigan Tech’s faculty, Chigan was a visiting scholar with the department of High Performance Communications System at Bell Labs, Lucent Technologies, in Holmdel, New Jersey. She received her MS and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering from the State University of New York, Stony Brook, in 2000 and 2002, respectively. Chigan is a past recipient of the Michigan Tech Research Excellent Fund (REF) Award (2004) and the National Science Foundation CAREER Award (2007).
