Established to develop, encourage and support the spirit of entrepreneurship at Michigan Tech.
What does Entrepreneurship Club do to help Tech students?
Entrepreneurs club (E-Club) is open to all students at Michigan Tech regardless of their major. The club provides students with opportunities to meet new people, make friends, share business ideas, and build teams for competitions. E-Club holds biweekly meetings with the added bonus of free food and drinks in addition to nurturing their entrepreneurial spirit.
E-Club helps students build momentum in entrepreneurial endeavors and educates them on best practices. Club meetings include entrepreneur guest speakers, with the opportunity to learn from and ask questions of those guests. The club’s advisor, Lecturer in Management/Entrepreneurship, Michele Loughead, is very active with the club serving as an additional resource for entrepreneurship based on personal experience and education.
What activities does e-Club have?
The Elevator Pitch Competition, which is co-hosted by the E-Club, is the largest activity for the club. This is an annual business competition at Michigan Tech which is open to the public. During this competition, E-Club helps students with business ideas prepare their pitch and provides suggestions on where to gather information to strengthen their ideas.
Central Michigan University’s New Venture Competition is another business competition that our E-Club is heavily involved in. The competition is held in Mount Pleasant, MI on Central Michigan University’s campus. Our club participates in the competition, but also aides in the organization and delivery of the program
