What a difference a year makes. This time last year, Michigan Tech's Great Lakes Research Center was just opening its doors. Now it's a thriving, busy, multi-disciplinary hub of Great Lakes research. 
Greg Sesselmann was working in the filtration business, using carbon in dry-cleaning filters, when it occurred to him that carbon might also solve a problem long faced by hunters: masking the odor of humans. He was right. The Michigan Tech materials science and engineering alumnus now runs Scent-Lok Technologies, a global company producing scent-eliminating hunting gear of all kinds.

Don Lehman came to Michigan Tech in 1959 to get an education and play football. He did both, earning MVP honors in 1962 and graduating in 1963 with a bachelor's in civil engineering.
