Reservations

We want to emphasize the importance of keeping your calendar reservations up to date when scheduling sessions at our facility.

Please remember to update your calendar invitations if you cannot make it to your reserved session or end early. This simple practice ensures that others can use the instrument during that time.

Before reserving equipment, all users must familiarize themselves with lab procedure and policy.

Google Resource Calendar Instructions

Do Once

Display the Google Resource Calendar

  1. Login to your Michigan Tech gmail account and display your calendar:

    www.google.com/calendar/
  2. Other calendars (+) > Browse resources
  3. Open the ACMAL or CIF slider.
  4. Check the resource with “ACMAL-” or “CIF-” prefix.
  5. The resource calendar will now display under “Other calendars.”

Do Each Time

Add a Resource to Reserve an Instrument

  1. Login to your Michigan Tech gmail account and display your calendar:

    www.google.com/calendar/
  2. Create a new event in your personal calendar as: Full Name (First and Last) or Course. DO NOT submit your initials, first name only, or senior design group name.
  3. Edit the event and add a resource, eg:

Rooms > ACMAL or CICF > instrument calendar

The resource will automatically be added to EVENT DETAILS.

Add contact email, purpose (Course, Research, Demo, Maintenance), or other information in the Description field. You may invite others (Guests) in addition to reserving the instrument.

Trained users may reserve instruments during normal business hours (8 a.m. - 5 p.m.) Monday through Friday. Reservations outside of normal business hours require special permission.

During working hours, do not exceed a four hour reservation on instruments except the Origin+ Atomic Force Microscope (AFM). AFM reservations should not exceed 6 hours. Longer reservations are available with permission.

Select “Does not repeat” drop-down menu to change to recurring reservations.

    SAVE.
  4. If you are displaying your personal calendar and the resource calendar, you should see the event in both calendars.
