Are you a highly motivated MSE undergraduate?
If so, you have the option of participating in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering’s accelerated masters program that allows you to earn both a BS and MS in Materials Science and Engineering in as little as 5 years.
MSE undergraduate students can earn up to 12 credits of coursework that will apply towards the MS degree. Students can start their master’s thesis work immediately upon finishing the BS degree, and complete all remaining requirements for the MS in Materials Science and Engineering in one additional academic year.
Requirements for Participation in the Accelerated MS program
- Students must be currently working toward a BS in Materials Science and Engineering at Michigan Tech and maintain a 3.0 GPA. Student can apply to the accelerated MS program as early as the junior year, and must apply before finishing the BS degree.
- Students must earn both the BS and a MS degree from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Michigan Tech. Students should have a MSE faculty advisor for the MS degree by the end of the senior year.
- Students who wish to participate in the accelerated masters program are subject to the admission requirements set forth by Michigan Tech’s Graduate School and by the Department of Materials Science and Engineering’s Graduate program.
