The quality of a Michigan Tech education is best illustrated by the accomplishments of our students.
- Business students won the 2007 and 2008 annual RISE national stock investment competition in the value category.
- Michigan Tech hosts the Clean Snowmobile Challenge every winter, with this year’s sled winning the Performance Award.
- Computer science students are routinely invited to the World Finals of the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest—this year in Banff, Alberta, where they finished in the top half of all competitors, tied with Cornell and Duke.
- Students from many majors work together on real-world industry projects as part of the Enterprise Program—from video games to wireless, homeland security to hybrid SUVs. In just one example, students in the Aerospace Enterprise built a nano-satellite for space surveillance and flew a team of four students aboard NASA’s zero- gravity simulation airplane in Houston.
- The capstone Senior Design Project allows engineering students to research solutions to problems and present their findings at the end of their academic career. It is, in many ways, their first step toward becoming professionals.
