Graduate Programs in Environmental Policy

Students in Michigan Tech’s Environmental and Energy Policy PhD program gain skills in policy analysis and an understanding of social, economic and environmental systems.

This interdisciplinary program will prepare students to conduct research in support of societal decisions regarding environmental and energy-policy goals, strategies, and programs. Students will use the tools and approaches of multiple disciplines, including sociology, geography, anthropology, political science, economics, history, sustainability science, ecology, and hydrology in support of research involving an integrated assessment of environmental and energy-related policy choices.

Michigan Tech's program is small and focused, which permits us to be flexible and to work intensively with each of our graduate students. The program will focus on policy-related research supporting societal decisions and choices toward a sustainable society.
