Select an area of study to get started or choose from seven undecided options and take up to two semesters to explore your options before making a decision. An accelerated master's degree option allows you to complete a master's degree in just two additional semesters beyond your bachelor's.

Outdoor Adventure
Our university is located on the Keweenaw Waterway—minutes from Lake Superior. The natural splendor of the area is perfect for adventure in any season. Hike, bike, and ski our trails; paddle on lakes and rivers; take in majestic waterfalls; and explore the shores of the greatest of the Great Lakes. At Michigan Tech, outdoor adventure comes with the territory.

Each residence hall offers a dining hall, study lounges, game room, sauna (pronounced sow-na, according to those in our region with a strong Finnish heritage), fitness room, and laundry facilities—and both student and professional residence staff are available any time you have questions or need help. Meals are prepared fresh daily and you'll have unlimited access to all three dining halls. We're happy to work with you individually if you have dietary concerns.

It's a lengthy drive for most students to get to campus, which means there's a vibrant college life scene! About Houghton
Founded in the 1880s as a copper mining community, Houghton is the largest city in the Copper Country region and the fifth largest city in the Upper Peninsula. Together with sister city Hancock, approximately 15,000 residents call the area home year-round. The city is proud to be ranked the 8th most beautiful small town in America by Architectural Digest. You'll quickly find the community is as much a part of Michigan Tech as Tech students are part of the community.

We're committed to making a Michigan Tech education affordable for the students tomorrow needs. That's why nearly 90 percent of our students receive financial aid. What could you qualify for? - Submit your application for admission. No letters of recommendation required. Students applying to nursing and visual and performing arts majors may need to submit additional application materials.
- Provide additional required documents. What you need is based on whether you're a future first-year student, transfer student, or international student.
- No test scores required. If you have scores, we encourage you to submit them for maximum financial aid consideration.
- Apply for competitive scholarships. See scholarships available for in-state and out-of-state students. Some deadlines are as early as November 15 of your senior year.
- File your FAFSA. For the best chance at the most aid available, file by March 1 on the Federal Student Aid site and use our school code: 002292.
