Summer Reading

Michigan Tech’s summer Reading as Inquiry initiative—known as the Summer Reading program—is meant to prepare incoming first-year students for college-level reading, inquiry, and discussion. The summer reading experience provides a taste of what your academic life will be like—you’ll be expected to read the book before arriving to campus and be prepared to discuss it during a class-like group session during Orientation week.

This year’s book selection and additional information will be mailed to you in July. Purchase the book online and have it mailed to you from the Michigan Tech Bookstore, or buy it from your favorite local or online bookseller.

Alternative formats may be available to students who qualify for special accommodations. Please contact Michigan Tech's Student Disabilities Services office at 906-487-2212 or email Christy Oslund.
