Non-Funding Agreement Approval Form is an internal Michigan Tech document used to track the history and basic details related to the origination of all kinds of non-monetary agreements. This form must be completed by the initiating faculty/staff and signed by the department chair, director or college/school dean, as appropriate. The form serves as the cover page of all proposed agreements. A completed and signed Non-Funding Agreement Approval Form accompanied by the proposed agreement is submitted to IIE for further review, processing and distribution for administrative authorized signatures/approvals.
Types of Agreement Templates Available
Memo of Understanding (MOU) is a standard document adopted by Michigan Tech which facilitates future relationships with international collaborators. The MOU is a generic document which expresses the intent of both parties to explore possibilities for reciprocal and non-reciprocal international exchanges (student, faculty, research etc). A signed Memo of Understanding does create any financial or legal commitments. It only opens the door for bi-lateral communication and negotiations so collaborators can negotiate specific international exchange agreements. The Memo of Understanding must be submitted with the Michigan Tech Transmittal Form for Non-Monetary Agreement/Contract/Understanding form to IIE for further processing and distribution for authorized signatures/approvals.
International Student Exchange Agreement is a legal contract between two collaborators. The agreement can be reciprocal (two-way exchange of students) or non-reciprocal (one-way travel of students). An agreement may involve only undergraduate or graduate students or it may involve students at all academic levels. The template for International Student Exchange Agreement includes the details of all legal and financial commitments and is designed to be used for a reciprocal arrangement, however, any additional specific item of agreement may be inserted for review and approval. The International Student Exchange Agreement document must be completed and submitted with the completed and signed Michigan Tech Transmittal Form for Non-Monetary Agreement/Contract/Understanding form to IIE for further processing and distribution for authorized signatures/approvals.
International Faculty Exchange Agreement is a legal contract between two collaborators. The template for this agreement includes the details of all legal and financial commitments, however, any additional specific item of agreement may be inserted for review and approval. The International Faculty Exchange Agreement document must be completed and submitted with the completed and signed Michigan Tech Transmittal Form for Non-Monetary Agreement/Contract/Understanding form to IIE for further processing and distribution for authorized signatures/approvals.
International Research Exchange Agreement is a legal contract between two collaborators which involves exchange of researchers, post doctoral fellows and may include doctoral research. The template for this agreement has details of all legal and financial commitments, however, due to grants and awards funded by federal governments, private organizations and international agencies, it is recommended to add specific items of agreement for review and approval. The International Research Exchange Agreement document must be completed and submitted with the completed and signed Michigan Tech Transmittal Form for Non-Monetary Agreement/Contract/Understanding form to IIE for further processing and distribution for authorized signatures/approvals.
