Sponsored Programs Accounting

Research expenditures at Michigan Technological University have almost doubled in the last decade and now total more than $44 million. The Sponsored Programs Accounting office has the primary responsibility for the financial management of externally sponsored projects. This includes account establishment, transaction processing and compliance review, cash management, financial reporting and financial account closeout procedures.

The Sponsored Programs Accounting office works with other central administrative offices to assist principal investigators with the administrative functions of their research work. We provide customer service orientated assistance, keeping ahead of sponsor requirements and state and federal regulations. The SPA office is dedicated to providing current information, advice, and assistance to faculty and staff.
