The Help Desk Consultant provides the first level of support for customers of Information Technology at Michigan Tech. The Help Desk Consultant will receive, prioritize, document and actively resolve IT help requests for University students, faculty, staff and the broader campus community. The Consultant works collaboratively with other Information Technology professionals to provide superior user service to the entire campus in support of teaching, research, and learning.
As a member of the Information Technology team, this position is responsible for the planning, design, implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting and support of the University’s wired and wireless networks infrastructure. The main responsibility is the data network (routers, switches, WiFi, etc.). Other systems include the CATV, radio, and access control systems. You will contribute by performing diagnostics, resolving problems, advancing problems to vendors as required, working with other team members, and taking appropriate actions to assure appropriate and prompt solutions to system and customer problems.
We are seeking a Storage Administrator who will be responsible for the overall technical architecture of the storage, and backup and recovery systems, and will ensure their stability, resiliency and health. The Storage Administrator will also assist in the development of long-term strategies and roadmaps for the storage architecture and will work with the security team to ensure ongoing data security.

The Systems Administrators in our Windows team are responsible for the effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, maintenance, security, and performance of a large number of Windows workstations and servers. As a member of our Windows team you will also maintain the systems and services related to authentication (AD/Kerberos), configuration management (SCCM), patch management (WSUS), and application packaging and distribution.
