On behalf of Michigan Technological University, it is my pleasure to congratulate both you and your student on making the decision to join our community and to welcome you. As you probably know by now, Michigan Tech has the reputation of attracting bright, motivated, and adventurous students, and we are committed to providing them the support and education they need to be successful and create a better future for all of us.
At Michigan Tech, your student will meet students from all over the world. They may play in the pep band; make new discoveries through research; engage in community service; or play broomball. Your student will partner with world-class faculty who will challenge them intellectually and expect them to participate, and they will be supported by staff and a community that cares about them and the impact they will make on our world.
The independence students find when going off to college can be both exciting and overwhelming to them. We respect this newfound independence and look forward to fostering their growth and development, while also holding them accountable for their decisions. Preparing students to create the future, like many challenges, is exciting and inspiring.
As the parent, guardian, or family member of a Michigan Tech student, we value you as our partner and will do all we can to work with you in support of your student. The success of your student is important to all of us, and we look forward to providing them with a safe, enriching learning environment where they can be successful.
