First-Year Co-op/Internships
Gain practical experience before graduation with the Michigan Tech Cooperative Education Program. The co-op program is a joint venture between Michigan Tech, a selected employer, and you. Work assignments are related to your major field of study and are varied to provide a broad range of experience and training. Co-op students must complete the same academic program as nonparticipants, so you could defer graduation by as much as a full calendar year.
Internships are similar to co-ops except that the work is not necessarily applicable to the field in which you will receive your degree. Typically students intern over the summer.
