Welcome to Michigan Technological University! Orientation 2012 is quickly approaching, so mark your calendar! For first-year students, it begins on Sunday, August 26, 2012 and, for transfer students, it begins on Friday, August 31, 2012. Orientation for Parents and Families will also take place on August 26, 2012.
Orientation will do the following for incoming students:
- Provide students with an introduction to their academic program and advising.
- Create opportunities for new students to meet members of the campus community.
- Excite new students about being a member of the Michigan Tech community.
- Offer information and exposure to campus resources and opportunities.
- Assist new students in understanding their rights and responsibilities within their new home and academic community.
- Reflect on common new-student experiences with diversity and multiculturalism, personal wellness, independence and personal responsibility, time management, and community living.
