Proposal Development
The Sponsored Programs Enhancement area at Michigan Tech supports the strategic research and education goals of the University by assisting faculty, staff, and students in the development of research, education, outreach, and fellowship proposals. Proposal development staff help to write and edit broader impacts ideas, outreach plans, management plans, Michigan Tech statistics and descriptions, and other proposal-specific text needs. Proposal development staff help to develop and submit complex and interdisciplinary proposals and work with students to develop competitive fellowship proposals. Comprehensive training and one-on-one meetings are available to assist with finding funding, proposal writing, collaboration, and developing competitive proposals.
Proposal Review, Submission and Negotiation
The Sponsored Programs Office supports the University’s strategic research and education goals by assisting faculty in coordinating the grant application/proposal submission process with federal and state government agencies, universities, and foundations. Sponsored Programs staff review and negotiate grant and contract terms and conditions for compliance with University policies.
Sponsored Programs Accounting
The Sponsored Programs Accounting area supports the University’s strategic research and education goals by assisting faculty with the financial monitoring, reporting, and project close outs for grants and contracts with federal/state governments, private companies, and foundations. Sponsored Programs Accounting staff coordinate outside audits related to externally sponsored projects.
Sponsored Operations Office
The Sponsored Operations Office supports the University’s strategic research and education goals by providing a business infrastructure in support of the Vice President for Research (VPR) operations. Support includes direct assistance to the campus community in the creation and/or review of non-monetary agreements, award tracking and reporting, and business services.
