Michigan Technological University maintains a full-time Transfer Services Office for new, current, and readmitted students intending to transfer courses to Michigan Tech. Transfer credit is granted for appropriate courses completed off-campus with a grade of "C" (2.0) or better.
Incoming transfer students must submit an application for admission and official transcripts to the Admissions Office. See Michigan Tech Admissions for more information.
Current/former students who would like more information concerning course equivalency transfers to Michigan Tech from other colleges/universities may use the Michigan Transfer Equivalency System.
In order to process incoming transfer credit, an official transcript from your transferring institution must be submitted to the Registrar’s Office.
Information to Remember
- Upper-division (3000-4000 level) Michigan Tech course transfers require prior written approval from the appropriate department.
- Current/readmitted Michigan Tech students are required to take UN1001 and UN1002 on campus.
- If any course that you plan to take off campus is a prerequisite for your next term on campus, you will need to notify Transfer Services. We will then enter a prerequisite waiver to prevent any course scheduling issues.
