Tamara Olson is currently an Associate Professor of Mathematics at Michigan Technological University. Following undergraduate studies in mathematics and physics at St. Olaf College in 1986, Olson earned her MS and PhD in Mathematics at NYU's Courant Institute in 1991. Since then, she has maintained an interest in interdisciplinary modeling projects, taking postdoctoral positions at Yale, Brigham Young University, and the Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) in departments of mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, and mathematics before accepting her position at Michigan Tech.
