Step 3: Select CITI Course Curriculum
Once you have an account on the CITI site, select the appropriate course curriculum to complete as described below. There will be sixteen modules to complete in the required New Graduate RCR Training course; they do not need to be completed at one time. You can save your progress and return to the modules at a later time.
If you are conducting research with human subjects, you may need to complete additional courses prior to beginning your research.
Question 1
If this is your first time taking a CITI course at Michigan Technological University, choose one learner group below based on your role and the type of human subjects activities you will conduct. You will be enrolled in the Basic Course for that group.
All graduate students must select "Students conducting no more than minimal risk research."
Question 2
All students must select, "N/A. I have not completed the Basic Course for my learner group yet."
Question 3
Select only "New Graduate RCR Training."
Question 4
Do not select any modules.
Question 5
Select any radio button. Depending on the button you select, a different biosafety course will be added. You do not need to complete this extra course.
Step 4: Complete CITI Course Curriculum
Complete the sixteen modules in the course, "New Graduates RCR Training, RCR." If there are other courses listed, they are not required. Note that your progress may be saved, and the modules do not need to be completed at the same time. If you have previously completed a CITI course, you will receive credit for any modules completed in a different course.
Step 5: Provide Evidence of Completion
The Graduate School will receive an e-mail from CITI within a day after you complete the CITI training. The Graduate School will confirm completion with you via e-mail within five business days. Contact Debra Charlesworth if you have any questions or do not receive confirmation within five days.
