The Keweenaw National Historic Park and the Quincy Smelter Association recently began offering tours at the Quincy Smelter, located on Portage Lake across from the Houghton waterfront. The smelter was shut down in 1971. Stepping in those buildings on a recent tour was going back in time. Have you been to the smelter?
