Location
  • Feb 22, 2013 7:30 PM
  • Rozsa Center

Superior Wind Symphony presents Re:Location, an evening of wind music inspired by and associated with wonderful places. Three pieces represent new Director of Bands Michael Christianson’s previous residence, NYC: George Washington Bridge, by William Schuman, Grand Central Terminal, by Michael Torke, and Avenue X, by Jonathan Newman. Two pieces represent the beauty of Michigan: The Northern Pines, by John Philip Sousa, and Blue Lake Overture, by John Barnes Chance. In addition, Finland and America are evoked by Sibelius and Clare Fisher. The SWS is proud to welcome Frank Battisti-emeritus conductor of the New England Conservatory-as guest conductor for this concert. Be swept away while sitting in your seat!
