We Need Your Help
We value our alumni and the stories they give to potential and current students. We are reviewing our programs and your feedback is essential to our process. The Michigan Technological University Department of Visual and Performing Arts is looking for information about your experience as a student in the department. This feedback will be used to improve the opportunities we provide to students, to refine our curriculum, and to develop plans for the future.
What Are Our Alumni Up To?
Starting Their Own Businesses and Recruiting.
Smart Monkeys
Our alumni create businesses and employ our students. They were recently on campus recruiting students. Smart Monkeys specialize in AV control systems. One of our alumni for example headed the final programming check for the Smithsonian Museum on African American History, a museum that is particularly rich in multimedia content.
Big Names. Big Jobs.
8th Day Sound
Many of our alumni who are working with big name artists are doing it through this company. Dan Bluhm is currently working with Taylor Swift. Others like Sam Balk have been on tour with Lady Gaga.
