Join the Keweenaw Symphony Orchestra for a thrilling "Night at the Opera." Gypsy melodies and witty overtures transport you to the sunny Mediterranean for this winter concert.

Soloist Lara Neves will sing selections from two all-time favorite operas, Bizet's "Carmen" and Verdi's "Otello," while the orchestra, directed by Dr. Joel Neves, will will play other favorites drawn from the world of opera.

Mezzo-soprano Lara Neves, a soloist and voice teacher who moved to Houghton last year, was featured as soloist in Handel's "Messiah" in the Rozsa Center in December. She has previously performed in productions of "The Magic Flute," "Die Fledermaus," "Tales of Hoffman," and "The Marriage of Figaro," and sang in the "Carmen Suites" with orchestras in Arizona and Utah.
