Great Lakes Showcase—A Fine Arts and Crafts Exhibition

Great Lakes Showcase Banner

The Great Lakes Showcase is an annual week-long, juried exhibition of fine arts and crafts. The opening will feature the announcement of awards for outstanding work in several categories.

Opening Reception

This year the reception will be held on Monday, March 12, 2012, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm in the Rozsa Center. Juror's comments begin at 7:30 pm.

Exhibit

Free and open to the public, the exhibit will be located in the Rozsa Art Gallery and surrounding area. Parking will be available in lots near the Rozsa Center, with signs directing visitors. (NOTE: The gallery is closed on weekends.) The Showcase features paintings, photography, drawings, collage, ceramics, textiles, and works in wood by local and regional artists, juried by a group of professional artists.

Showcase Director

Mary Ann Beckwith, professor of art and director of the Showcase, encourages everyone to drop by the Rozsa Center to visit the show during its week-long run. “There’s literally something for everyone,” she says, “and it’s always wonderful to see the quality of work being created by Great Lakes artists.” Many of the works will be for sale by the artists, and a catalog of the work will be available during the show.
