Thanksgiving Memories

I did a bit of digging, trying to find more information about Thanksgiving past, and I came across a photo from Thanksgiving ’08. Excellent; I was here then, so I could talk about it.

Turns out it’s Thanksgiving 1908. Can’t say I know much about that one since it was 70 years before I was born.

What I do recall, mostly from my former students, are stories of surviving the Seney stretch (with danger coming either from weather or boredom) and also a lot of noticing how high-school friends had changed in just a few short months.

What do you remember about this time of year? Were you happy to get home, see everyone you’ve missed, and soak in a brief window of downtime? Or were you off on an adventure? Let me know at the usual address: techalum@mtu.edu
