Structure of the Training Process
The Safe Place Ally Training Program educates individuals about LGBTQIA* identities, the needs of LGBTQIA* students, the coming out process, ways to create an inclusive campus environment, and the resources available on and off campus.
Utilizing video diaries from students and identity activities, the Michigan Tech Safe Place Program is designed to be a comprehensive and in-depth resource. Structured as four steps, the training takes approximately four hours from beginning to end, but the training times listed below are designed to provide options that will accommodate a variety of schedules.
Faculty and staff who signed up to be Safe Place Allies prior to June 2011 are asked to register for Safe Place training.
