Transcript Requests

A transcript is a student’s complete academic record at Michigan Technological University.
Official transcripts are printed on special protective paper or created in a secure electronic
format. Paper transcripts can be mailed domestically and internationally. Electronic transcripts
are sent through a secure process and are typically delivered within 20 minutes of the request
being submitted.

Michigan Tech has partnered with the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) to provide
electronic and paper transcripts through their online transcript ordering system. This partnership
allows you to request transcripts 24 hours a day, seven days a week with tracking capability
through text messaging or email.

Transcripts can be notarized by the Michigan Tech Registrar’s Office for a State of Michigan apostille. Contact registrar@mtu.edu to request a notarized transcript.

  • Michigan Tech does not assist in obtaining the State of Michigan apostille. Directions can be found on the State of Michigan Document Authentication webpage.

The NSC website provides instructions for submitting a request, including delivery options and fees. You can also track your order online if you have the order number and email address used
to place the order.

Free paper transcripts are also available from the Registrar’s Office. Students may come to the
office in person with their photo ID to request a transcript, which will be printed for the student to
take with them. Requests for paper transcripts in a sealed envelope must be processed through the
NSC. Free in-person transcripts are limited to five copies per day.
