Tech to Offer MBA

Michigan Tech's Board of Trustees gave final approval Thursday to a new Master of Business Administration degree.

The new degree program will attract students with undergraduate degrees in engineering and science and would provide a general understanding of business. The MBA could be completed in a calendar year (three semesters, including summer semester). The program is primarily aimed at students graduating from Michigan Tech, said Christa Walck, dean of the School of Business and Economics.

"The program meets the demands of today's fast-paced and technologically rich workplace," said Walck, "and will make a significant contribution to Michigan Tech's efforts to integrate business and technology. These MBAs will create the technology-driven businesses of the future."

Currently, the SBE offers an MS in Business Administration, but not an MBA. The new program will begin enrolling students in the fall.
