GLBTQ History Month
Celebrated annually during October, GLBTQ History Month highlights the historical and contemporary accomplishments of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning individuals.
GLBTQ History Month features a variety of information and programs that differ each year. Many events focus on issues and obstacles specific to GLBTQ people. Past years’ events have included:
- guest speakers,
- films,
- workshops, and
- events such as Keweenaw Pride’s celebration of National Coming Out Day, where the campus community is invited to announce their orientation or to “come out” as a GLBTQ-community ally.
GLBTQ students coordinate GLBTQ History Month events with assistance from the Center for Diversity and Inclusion. For information about the 2013 GLBTQ History Month events, click here.
