LGBTQIA* History Month

Celebrated annually during October, LGBTQIA* History Month highlights the historical and contemporary accomplishments of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, and asexual individuals.

LGBTQIA* History Month features a variety of information and programs that differ each year. Many events focus on issues and obstacles specific to LGBTQIA* people. Past years’ events have included:

  • guest speakers,
  • films,
  • workshops, and
  • events such as Keweenaw Pride’s celebration of National Coming Out Day, where the campus community is invited to announce their orientation or to “come out” as a LGBTQIA*-community ally.
