The University-wide MTU Fall and Spring Career Fairs draw more than 400 companies and 2,000 recruiters to campus each year to meet and hire you.
How Do I Prepare for Career Fair?
Name Tag
Print your name tag before the fair. Come to Career Services and print your name tag, so that you can skip the long line to get into the Career Fair.
Wardrobe
Prepare ahead of time! Make sure you know what you are going to wear. Try it on. Make sure it fits and is in good condition. Make sure it's clean and ready. If you find that you are missing something, we're here to help. Career Closet provides one free, gently-worn, professional outfit for you to be confident for Career Fair and Interview Day.

Your Introduction
How will you introduce yourself to recruiters?
Plan ahead. Write it down. What are the first things you want them to know about you? Make sure it's brief and starts (not finishes) a conversation.
Practice!
Introduce yourself to your friends. Introduce yourself to people you meet at Winter Carnival. Come to Career Services and introduce yourself to us, and we'll help you fine-tune it before fair. When you get to Career Fair, visit the tables of a few companies you are not interested in meeting, until you are practiced and comfortable. Then go see the companies you want to meet.
Update Your Online Profiles
Make sure your profils are current, so recruiters can find you, and you look good when they do.
