Social Sciences

Explore human behavior and history.

Social science majors study how human behavior is organized and how it changes over time. You’ll explore archaeology, anthropology, geography, history, political science, and sociology and be prepared for success in graduate school, law school, management, and other professions.

Map and model human migration. Analyze household food and water consumption. Add a concentration in Policy, Law, and Society to prepare for a wide variety of careers in public, private, and social sectors and gain a strong foundation for law or graduate school. Compete in a mock trial program and present opening statements, direct and cross examinations, and closing arguments. Travel to law schools around the country with the Law Club. Conduct your own research or work with nationally-known faculty on theirs. Study abroad. Plus, get to know your professors on a first-name basis in a department committed to personalized attention and small class sizes.

"The classes in my major focus on political science and international relations. This year, I'm studying language and culture in Japan." Trenton Woodcox, Social Sciences (Policy, Law, and Society Concentration)
