Graduate Student Selected to Deliver 'Flash Talk' at National Symposium

Chemistry doctoral student Jared Edwards has been invited to deliver a Flash Talk at the 35th Anniversary Symposium of The Protein Society.

Edwards is advised by Tarun Dam (Chem), who is a member of the Health Research Institute and is principal investigator in the mechanistic glycobiology laboratory.

Investigators from different disciplines, who belong to the international protein science community, attend the symposium annually to present their research work.

As per the program planning committee, this year's submissions have been highly competitive. Flash Talks have been selected from a pool of more than 450 abstracts that present high quality research.

These abstracts will be published in a special symposium issue of the journal, Protein Science. The selection of Edwards’ abstract for a Flash Talk highlights the quality and importance of his scientific project.

Graduate student Priyanka Kadav and Research Assistant Professor Purnima Bandyopadhyay from the same lab are co-authors of the abstract.

This is the second time in four months that a graduate student advised by Dam has been selected for oral presentations at national/international scientific conferences.
