Giving Opportunities

Gifts designated to the School of Technology allow us to grow our programs and facilities, helping to improve the quality of education provided to students. Because state support for higher education has declined significantly in recent years, gifts of any size have an even greater impact on transforming individual lives, attracting world-class faculty members, and building innovative programs.

Thank you for your generosity.

Scholarship gifts have a direct impact on a student's ability to pursue their educational goals. Support for existing scholarships is always appreciated or you might want to consider creating a new endowed or annual scholarship established in your name, in memoriam, or through your employer.

Real-World Experience

The School affords students many opportunities to put their education to work before graduation. Michigan Tech's Enterprise program offers the kind of experience companies are seeking. Teams of students from diverse majors work together as a business, solving problems, creating new products, or working on special projects. Within the School, Senior Projects give students an intense, two-semester crash course in tackling technological challenges. In addition, many of our instructors have come from careers in industry and know how to prepare students for the real world of work.

Programs and Facilities

Each of our programs provides a hands-on, lab-intensive student experience. Well-equipped facilities are an integral part of this educational experience: students come here to roll up their sleeves and get their hands on technology. Gifts made directly to the School, including designations to any of its degree programs or initiatives, support current priorities and respond to emerging opportunities that are not covered by other funds. A general donation to the School will be used for initiatives that have an effect across all programs in the School and gives us the most flexibility to handle common areas of need. Depending on your interest, gifts can be also designated specifically for one of the degree programs.

Create a New Fund

School of Technology graduates are well prepared and are ready to be contributing employees from day one. To help ensure the success of our students and our programs, you might be interested in creating a new fund that would be established according to your preferences. To discuss the opportunities that are available, please contact me or Rex Wilson our Advancement Officer.
