Dortmund, Germany—Study Abroad
This partner program with TU Dortmund University is designed to offer students innovative, hands-on study opportunities in upcoming field designed to build your resume and experience, extend your network, and give you a unique European/transnational set of skills in your field of study.
Dortmund is a large and diverse city that offers all the advantages of urban life in a metropolitan area of some six million people.
A four week intensive German Language Course is offered during the months of September (prior to the winter semester) and March (prior to the summer semester).
The German Language Course is accompanied by a mandatory cultural program. The cultural program includes excursions and activities that are organized for you.
The International Summer Program consists of two different tracks that you can choose classes from: Engineering and German and European Studies. In addition to or instead of the track-specific courses, you can also undertake a research project. All courses are in English, and you are encouraged to use this opportunity to acquire basic German language skills or to brush up your German competence in the mandatory German language course.
Summer Track A: Engineering
You can select from a catalog of English taught courses in the following fields:
- Applied Mathematics
- Automation & Robotics
- Biochemical & Chemical Engineering
- Business & Economics
- German Culture
- Mechanical Engineering
Summer Track B: German & European Studies
- You can select from classes mostly dealing with German culture in European and global contexts
- You will be fully integrated in regular classes and campus life
