Tampere, Finland (Univ)—Study Abroad
Michigan Tech has an exchange student agreement with the University of Tampere. The University of Tampere embraces many fields of science and its research profile is extensive and multidisciplinary. There are six faculties and nine independent institutes. The University of Tampere is the biggest provider of higher education in Finland for social sciences and the accompanying administrative sciences. Tampere, the home city of the University is the third biggest city in Finland. There are also activities in smaller towns of Hämeenlinna, Pori, Seinäjoki, Valkeakoski and Virrat. Approximately one million people live in the area over which the influence of the University extends.
