Michigan Tech has an exchange student agreement with the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH). KTH accounts for one-third of Sweden’s technical research and engineering education capacity at university level. Education and research cover a broad spectrum – from natural sciences to all the branches of engineering as well as architecture, industrial engineering and management, urban planning, work science and environmental engineering.
Stockholm, one of the most beautiful capitals in the world, is built on 14 islands connected by 57 bridges. The beautiful buildings, the greenery, the fresh air and the proximity to the water are distinctive traits of this city.
Course Information
Exchange students may combine courses within the Engineering programs (excluding Architecture), provided that they meet the prerequisites specified for each course. KTH offers a large number of courses given in English. The majority of the exchange students at KTH, however, study the Swedish language and many of them follow courses given partly or totally in Swedish, with good results.
The selection of courses must always be approved by the International coordinator at KTH as well as Michigan Tech. More information on how to choose courses will be given by the International coordinator after you have been accepted to KTH.
Course descriptions are found online: Course and programme directory. All course descriptions are translated into English and include information on the number of ECTS credits, language of instruction, prerequisites, grading, number of lectures, etc.
