This program is offered through the Japan Center for Michigan Universities Consortium (JCMU). The JCMU study abroad program is a product of the strong sister-state relationship between the State of Michigan and Shiga Prefecture. It is located on the shore of Lake Biwa in the City of Hikone, Shiga Prefecture, Japan.
Course Information
The curriculum for both fall and spring (winter) semesters is made up of a 10-credit Japanese language course and one 3 or 4 credit elective course. Elective courses are taught in English, either at JCMU or the neighboring Shiga University and University of Shiga Prefecture, and cover a range of Japanese culture related topics.
