Michigan Tech has an exchange student agreement with Aalto University (formerly called Helsinki University of Technology (TKK)). Aalto University is the leading Finnish university of its kind in the fields of Science and Technology. It aims to equip the students with a firm foundation of knowledge needed in various fields of technology to enable their continuous professional development and ensure that they meet the requirements of an increasingly international operating environment.
Otaniemi campus, designed by Alvar Aalto, is located in Espoo. This part of Espoo constitutes a significant concentration of university education, research centres as well as head quarters of the most well-known Finnish companies such as Nokia, Kone and Neste Oil. In addition to that, Otaniemi campus is just a 15 minute bus ride from Helsinki centre, the lively capital of Finland.
