Michigan Tech Testing Center
The Michigan Tech Testing Center provides the highest quality testing services for instructors, staff, students, and guests. We provide a secure and comfortable testing environment and services, designed to support personal and professional educational goals.
The Testing Center is committed to providing:

Van Pelt and Opie Library 226
This exam delivery location includes three eyes on stations and seven stations with video monitoring. Lockable storage is available for a test candidate’s personal belongings. This facility is an ideal location for accommodated exams, exams for on-line courses, or make-up and overflow computerized exams. This space can also be scheduled using the online form. This facility strives to meet the National Collegiate Testing Association (NCTA) standards.

Proctoring Fees and Scheduling
Proctoring fees are not charged for the Testing Center administration of accommodated, computerized, or make-up exams for Michigan Tech courses. This no fee policy also applies to proctoring for Michigan Tech online courses.
Testing Center fees apply for non-Michigan Tech courses and non-Michigan Tech students. Current Michigan Tech students and employees who would like to use the Testing Center for certifications* or non-Michigan Tech courses will be charged a $10 per exam fee. Non-Michigan Tech students, who need to take a proctored exam, will be charged a $25 per exam fee. Any Testing Center fees are in addition to whatever fees the tester may have already paid to register for the course or exam. Fees must be paid through the Techshop page, by visiting the Michigan Tech Testing Center tab. Once the fee is paid, you will be contacted to schedule a time for your exam.
*Many sponsored exams have their own fee schedule. If the sponsored exam has their own fee schedule, the above proctoring fee does not apply.
Metered parking spaces are available directly outside the Library, adjacent to Rekhi. A visitors parking lot located is also available on the west part of the campus. For parking fees, please refer to the parking details page.

If Michigan Tech is closed due to inclement weather, the Testing Center will be closed also. If you were scheduled for a proctored exam during this closure, please contact the instructor to reschedule the exam. A sponsored exam must be rescheduled through the sponsor organization.

Hiring Student Proctors
The Testing Center is currently hiring proctors to assist with the monitoring of hourly, final and sponsored exams for the 2013-2014 school year. For more information, please visit the Michigan Tech jobs page.
Proctors assist with monitoring hourly, final, and sponsored exams Monday-Sunday during fall and spring semesters. These positions are open to Michigan Tech graduate students, Athletic Coaches and certain Michigan Tech employees. Proctors must be available to work on an as-needed basis between 8:00 am and 11:00 pm, Monday through Sunday.

When graduate students apply for these positions, student records will be checked with the Office of Student Affairs and the Graduate School. For all other University applicants, references will be contacted. Any integrity issues may disqualify applicants.
Graduate students will be invited for interviews depending on the need for proctors in the coming weeks or semester. A mandatory training session will be required for all proctors.
Skills Required to be a Proctor:
