With a fundraising goal of $350,000,000—the largest philanthropic investment in the history of our institution—our campaign priorities drive Michigan Tech forward to claim our place as one of the nation's flagship technological universities.
Philanthropy has the power to transform. The generosity of visionary donors will give Michigan Tech the ability to create world-shaping technologies and mentor outstanding leaders.
We can't fall behind.
According to the US Department of Labor, STEM jobs are projected to grow by more than 10 percent through 2031, and the field of software development alone is projected to increase by 22 percent. The engineering profession needs to expand by 15 percent to meet increasing demand and replace retiring baby boomers.
But, the workplace of tomorrow needs more than skilled workers. It needs educated problem-solvers with the expertise to keep America on the leading edge of innovation and the wherewithal to handle the complex dilemmas that the Fourth Industrial Revolution will face.
We’ve reached a pivot point in our trajectory. Michigan Tech is in a position of strength because of the past and present work of our faculty, students, staff, alumni and friends. We want to remain true to Tech, but it’s critical we keep driving forward to meet the needs of the state, nation, and world.

"There are few institutions that have the ability to do what Tech can do, and hence we bear a responsibility."

Tomorrow Needs Tech
Huskies must continue to solve the challenges facing our world today.

At Michigan Tech, we believe that if we do anything less than prepare our students to solve the world's most complex problems, we are doing them a disservice.
Since 1885, Michigan Technological University has been driving industry forward. The state's only public university specifically established to develop the talent and technology for tomorrow's workforce, Michigan Tech has been clear on its purpose from day one.
Autonomous vehicles for unstructured environments. Next-generation composite materials for missions into deep space. Technologies that recycle and reuse electric vehicle batteries. Computer-aided precision medicine that manages unruptured brain aneurysms. Michigan Tech makes good on its promise to deliver the leading-edge technology industry needs.
