As Vice President for University Relations and Enrollment, John Lehman serves as a chief state relations officer reporting directly to the President. In this role, John leads points of contact with all state government entities and agencies. These responsibilities include:
- monitoring bills and initiatives in Lansing including state appropriations and capital outlay
- disseminating information to Michigan Tech leadership assisting University units in researching issues and connecting them with appropriate state government offices and staff
- articulating the role Michigan Tech plays in the economic and general prosperity of the state of Michigan to those in Lansing
