Elisa Jurmu Promoted to Assistant Head Coach

Elisa Jurmu has been promoted to assistant head coach with the Michigan Tech women's basketball team.

Jurmu served as assistant coach for each of the past four seasons. Over that period, the Huskies posted a 70-39 overall record (.642), including two GLIAC North Division regular season championships, two conference tournament semifinal appearances and one GLIAC tournament championship (2020-21).

"Elisa is involved with nearly every aspect of our program and is fully responsible for our scout team in practice,” said head coach Sam Clayton. “I know our team wouldn't be the same without her, and I wouldn't be the coach I am without her either. I am so grateful for all that she has done and continues to do for our staff and team. This promotion is very well-deserved and just the beginning for her."
