Special Artist Reception at the GLRC!

We are thrilled to announce a special event at the Great Lakes Research Center on Wednesday, July 9, from 3-4 p.m.! Join us as we celebrate local artist Jim Dee, who has generously donated an incredible piece of art for public exhibition.

Jim's captivating mixed-media creation, "The Lake," is more than just an image; it's a profound representation of the interconnectedness of all things. Inspired by the powerful convergence of giant waves and the beautiful arcs and shapes they form, Jim masterfully crafted an artwork where the waves themselves create a visual experience that is both beautifully simple and wonderfully complex all at once.

We'd love for you to join us, meet Jim, and experience this remarkable artwork firsthand! Light refreshments will be provided for all guests.

Event Details:

  • What: Artist Reception Celebrating Jim Dee's "The Lake"
  • When: Wednesday, July 9, from 3-4 p.m.

Looking for Tech-Themed Items

Hello Huskies! We're looking to inject some Husky Spirit into our Memorial Union and are calling on the campus community for help.

The Memorial Union is on the hunt for Michigan Tech-themed posters, framed or unframed pictures, memorabilia or other items of interest that may no longer be in use across campus. We're a proud Husky pack and are interested in items that showcase our pride and help reflect the spirit and history of Michigan Tech.

We want to make our space comfortable for students with some fun pieces to enhance the public areas around the Memorial Union.

Have anything you’d like to offer that will spice up the Memorial Union? Do you have an awesome idea we should consider? We'd love to hear from you! Please contact Matt and Trevor at mubrooms@mtu.edu or 906-487-2543.

Thank you for helping us bring more Husky pride into our shared spaces!
