What Did You Go As?

Halloween was this past weekend, which meant plenty of fun to be had both on campus and off. On Friday, Pre-College Outreach hosted a little get-together, and full points to some of their staff for going as the characters on the different cans of KBC. Meanwhile, some students changed things up a bit as they headed to class.

It’s kind of like Career Fair, only instead of playing dress-up, they play dress-whatever. With that, I found this image from 1958, via the Mining Gazette and through our very own archives, captioned as:

Tricks and Treats – Among the Houghton students who will participate in the drive for “Coin Treats” tonight will be, left to right, Jim Figge, president of the Houghton Student Council, Lois Laitinen and Peggy Chamberlain. Proceeds will go to the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund. The trio visited the home of Mrs. Clyde Work in East Houghton Tuesday evening where they received treats from Mrs. Work, pictured on left, and Mrs. Corbin Eddy.

So what was Halloween like for you, then, during your time in the Keweenaw? A costume? A party? A regular night just like any other because there’s a chemistry exam tomorrow?
