On March 18, four recent Tech graduates joined fellow medical students from across the country in Match Day, a highly competitive process which places applicants into residency positions based on the ranking of both student and institution.

Andrea Bouman ’11, Austin Fernstrum ‘12 Paul Valencia ‘11 and Jessica Thompson ’12 completed their clinical training in Marquette at UP Health Systems together and all four will be graduating from the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in May.

In July, Bouman will begin her career in Emergency Medicine at Henry Ford Health Science System, Fernstrum in Urology at Case Western Reserve University Hospitals, Valencia in Emergency Medicine at Beaumont Health System and Thompson in General Surgery at Grand Rapids Medical Education Partners.
