Dennis, Not only was I in attendance at the NCAA games in Duluth,fabulous road trip, but I made the Duluth newspaper as well. Clipping attached, and you can also see Kermit and I celebrating the goal behind the Pep Band on the stairs at about 25 seconds into the video, thanks for the fabulous memory flashback!

I too was at that game….sold my Championship ticket to pay for the weekend.

What I remember MOST was at the end of the game….about 3 minutes left…..EVERYONE in the crowd started chanting “UP Power, UP Power, UP Power……..” It mattered not who was winning the game. Here were two small town Colleges, from the boondocks of the UP of Michigan, in an NCAA National Championship weekend, competing with the likes of Wisconsin and Minnesota (the Broten brothers, Neil & Aaron). I think it was one of the most impressive displays of “Fan” Sportsmanship that I have ever seen in College Sports. I will never forget it!

I was 9 when we ventured to the DECC for the NCAA Tournament. What a great way to miss a couple of days of school! Not only did I get to see some great hockey, Mr. Hockey, Gordie Howe, sat in the row behind us. His autograph back then was almost as cool as those of the Huskies. Boehmer, Muddy, Mel, Mike Lauen, the Swedes, Krieber, Darcy, Zuker, etc.. The list goes on. Superstars in my eyes back in the day. Thanks for bringing back a great memory.

Hello,
I seem to recall that for the 75-76 season the mascot for the hockey games had full length pant legs. My roommate, Cindy Amelon (sp?), wore the costume for at least part of the season. Unfortunately I have no photos.
