Design a Sustainable Future: Teacher Institute for Grade 4-12 Teachers

Are you a grade 4-12 teacher? Know someone who is? The Design a Sustainable Future Teacher Institute is open to teachers from any state who teach grades 4th through 12th. Teachers can earn graduate credit at a reduced rate for in or  out of state.

Design a Sustainable Future Teacher Institute for Gr. 4-12 Teachers*

July 24-28, 2017 at Michigan Technological University, Great Lakes Research Center

Do you want to:

  • Investigate product life cycle, building design, renewable energy sources, low impact site design, water reuse, smart transportation and food systems with cutting-edge research scientists and engineers at Michigan Technological University and community/teacher experts?
  • Engage in hands-on engineering lessons?
  • Gather resources for teaching about sustainability while addressing the new Michigan Science Standards?
  • Share STEM sustainability career options with your students?
  • Spend an exciting week in the Keweenaw Peninsula and enjoy the great outdoors?

Credit: Earn 30 SCECHs (pending, no additional cost) or 2 Graduate Credits (additional cost).

Cost: $300 off campus includes 5 lunches, field trips, classroom supplies; $650 on campus (also includes five nights lodging and meals)
