Study then Hike, Canoe, Swim. Summer in the Keweenaw

IMG_5747

Life in the Keweenaw for many Michigan Tech students this summer includes classes, studying, and research. The second section of summer classes just got underway. Summer courses are rigorous, 14 weeks of content is covered in 7 weeks.

But students who spend a summer in the Keweenaw experience different weather and a different pace.

The sun sets at 10 p.m. and rises at 6 a.m.

Life is more carefree…parkas and snow boots have given way to T-shirts and sandals.

There’s green grass, leaves on the trees, and snow and ice are distant memories.

Sure, you study and research and pass your finals, but there’s food to grill, parades to watch, and sunsets at Lake Superior.

So what about you? Did you spend a summer or two at Michigan Tech? Tell us your summer UP stories.

Or better yet, come back to Michigan Tech this summer. Join us for Reunion 2017. Celebrate. Remember. Reconnect.

We look forward to welcoming you back.
