In the July issue of the TechAlum newsletter, fill in the blanks, “Robots in 2005″, I am the guy third from the left. I was a EE student at the time, and taught a robotics summer class, along with Ryan Simetkosky, for middle school and high school students.It was part of a program put on by the MEEM department. I taught the following summer as well, with Josh McLean. Jingdong Tan, a professor at the time, is seen in the ballcap on the right. We had asked him to give the students a small presentation on his research in robotics. The picture was actually taken in a vacant lot just east of Tech on Portage Cove. It was a good way to make some money and get to enjoy the summer in the UP.
