Old Adventure Spots

The Satellite, in Lake Linden, was the place to go. Especially on Tuesday evenings when the new talent came to town.

Kevin,
In the early 60′s my favorite place for a “study break” during the week was Chuck’s, a bar at the east end of Houghton, near the confluence of Shelden and E. Montezuma Avenues. Quarter drafts and small paper cups of dry roasted peanuts for a dime fueled many hot games of Table Top Hockey.
Saturday nights were spent out of town, normally at the White House in Mohawk. The place was always packed with “Toots”, Air Force boys from the radar base, and lots of local girls who knew that the odds were in their favor! There was a small dance floor where the couples could mingle and “twist again like they did last summer”!
Good times!
